GREED

When in the presence of desire and prospective action, refer to the golden rule. ---W.M.

Human beings are susceptible to the enculturalization of things, which is one reason why we've had such a culture of animal consumption. That of which I believe got started out of desperation (survival) and then unnecessarily kept in practice by an insidious enculturation, the inherent thoughtlessness of habit and greed.

There have always been some people who have been plant-based in terms of diet though, even since ancient times, Certain Neanderthals that were in what is now Spain, evidence suggests that they were plant-based. Also, there have been humans throughout the ages that have been plant-based. Though, modern day practice of a plant-based diet proves its healthful status and renders animal consumption therefore, proven unnecessary.
In a world where animal consumption is uncompromisingly unnecessary, there are no other reasons to continue to consume animals than ignorance or DENIAL for personal gain (greed). And in a world where animal consumption is unnecessary along with the fact that people recognize the fact that other animals matter, there should have been an impetus to investigate the fact of the unnecessity of animal consumption and animal consumption should have stopped by the masses a long time ago as if there were a contagious virus. Unless in the presence of selfish desires (such as tradition or conditioned tastes etc.) and blatant inconsideration of nonhuman animals.
Without greed, much of the flawed logic (flawed because of an influence of greed) in the world wouldn't exist. Here is an example of flawed logic: People usually equate a craving with a need of something., albeit ambiguous. But taste pleasures or the fulfillment of cravings (a strong desire for something that promises enjoyment or pleasure.) doesn't necessarily mean benefit or equate to necessity. People can have cravings for unhealthy junk foods and only if they've had it before. There are tricks even in nature. And so, one can see how, If left unchecked, it would be easy for this assumption and false equation to influence one's reasoning and cause one to form flawed logic upon flawed logic. I suspect that this flawed equation has contributed to some degree to the continuance of the habit of animal consumption and even in the midst of non-human recognition and obligation -- greed being the inhibitor to investigation and logic.

A big promotor of consumption, of any sort, is taste, but foods and their taste have been perverted. And people have been conditioned to like tastes that they otherwise wouldn't. Dead animals prepared to be used as foodstuffs is an example of this. No one should be sticking a dead animal in their mouth. And so, what one needs to do, to recondition their self, is to invoke their natural disgust factor, imagine the sight of a dead animal or imagine the scent coming off of a dead animal and then going into your nose. Or try viewing blood and guts --- watch Dominion linked HERE. This would help to consciously recondition oneself so that dead animals, prepared in any fashion, smells stinky and taste bad.

Upon pondering the very prevalent and odd phenomenon of people eating other animals, I wrote this article below. ---Wayne Martin

SUBVERSION AND THE MISTAKEN IDEA OF NECESSITY

Although when people say animals matter and have value (what they are speaking of is the intrinsic dignity of the animal), the value that is primarily being practiced is that of personal gain.

First they’ll swoon over them in recognition of their soul, and then, when they’re at the dinner table, they’ll dismiss and dispose of their soul, and then eat them as if they were a vegetable. Even though, their significance never left.

What causes this inconsistent act of dismissal and disposal of those who matter ? It is primarily the result of two forces; the thought and mistaken idea of necessity, and greed.

Our pleasures have come into existence through evolution. But they shouldn’t be solely relied upon, because they can be subverted by some natural phenomena as well as by humans themselves. As is the case when humans strike a hot fire to their naturally whole food and manipulate it by isolating certain micro and macro nutrients and then recombining them in a fashion that is artificially tasteful, inconsiderate of whether it is actually beneficial to one’s health to do so.

This subversion of our taste bud pleasures occurs with many denatured, and “refined” products.

And this subversion is also what happens when people set fire to a naturally raw, bloody dead animal’s corps, cut or ground and then burned and manipulated and then salted, herbed or spiced so that it could then taste, somehow, pleasant to a habituated palate and conditioned mind.

This subversion is also what happens when industry keeps the horror of killing other animals away from our senses and out of sight, that of which then, artificially makes the products that they make out of the animals' bodies seem at all pleasurable. That is though, the case only if one is not callous and therefore lacking in empathy or incapable of empathy.

The thoughtless practice of ingesting the materials from the dead bodies of nonhuman animals most likely got its start out of desperation due to dire circumstances, environmental or otherwise. And then kept in practice by the thoughtless practice of habit, the subverted and mistaken idea of necessity, and of course greed.

Therefore, our taste pleasures do not equal necessity.

And what should be relied upon is evidence, of which is overwhelmingly positive towards an appropriately planned plant diet as optimally healthy.

This leaves no good reason to continue to eat non-human animals. And that the only other reason to continue to deprive other animals of their life would be for your own gluttonous gorging of your own personal pleasures, despite your own knowledge and recognition of them, or to put it another way, for greed. ---Wayne Martin

The most atrocious harm to another animal is to end their own life against their will, and this is one of the most pervasive harms being done to other animals. And the taking of other animals' lives, in order for their bodies to be used as human "food" contributes a huge portion of this harm.

These harms have happened far too long. But there have always been individuals that have refused to participate in this. One example is Sarina Farb

These harms are unnecessary, as not only is a plant-based diet healthy, but the Seventh Day Adventist Study has concluded that people who ate a plant-based diet, and people who ate less than one serving of fishes a day, lived on average ten years longer than those that ate other animals. So, what does that tell you? Animal consumption is, at the very least -- UNNECESSARY.

To unnecessarily take the dignity of another animal is to end one's own dignity and suffer cognitive dissonance, that of which even denial can't get rid of completely or permanently.

More or less feelings situated within oneself for other animals, shouldn’t be the deciding factors when it comes to the decision of whether or not one should harm non-human animals, because more or less empathetic feelings for non-humans doesn’t indicate how much non-humans matter unto themselves. But when there are any empathetic feelings with non-humans, it means that there is a natural recognition of non-humans’ inherent dignity. It is this recognition of non-humans and logic (a logic consistent with love) that should be the deciding factors when it comes to the decision of whether or not to harm other animals.

Besides cognitive dissonance (requires empathy), there will never be any other feeling than from compassion (requires empathy) that tells you that harm to animals is too much harm for anymore.

When what you're used to (or all you've known) doesn't work for you (because of your inborn recognition of non-human animals and values) you must RELY on facts and LOGIC to do what's good for you. ---Wayne Martin
